Ratings (1-10): video: 8 / audio: 8 / additional content: 8 / overall: 8.

We have viewed many of the films from this 2002 Kino DVD boxset. We have confirmed that this edition of Broken Blossoms is virtually identical to the 2001 edition reviewed here.

An obvious attraction of this boxset is the additional content in the form of supplemental materials, and the compilation of early Griffith Biograph short films.

For our comparative reviews of the individual films in this boxset, see our Biograph Shorts on home video, The Birth of a Nation on home video, Intolerance on home video, Broken Blossoms on home video and Orphans of the Stormon home video pages.

If you prefer DVD to Blu-ray Disc, this boxset is still recommended by us.
